Procter & Gamble will build a factory in Tashkent
The Turkish division of Procter & Gamble, PRIMA, is investing $20 million to build a factory for the production of hygiene products in the Tashkent Pharma Park cluster in Uzbekistan. An agreement on this was reached during a meeting on November 1 between representatives of the company and Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

The new enterprise is planned to produce Pampers baby diapers, wet wipes, and other personal hygiene products, which will create more than 350 new jobs. This investment decision was made in the context of ongoing economic reforms in the country, including the simplification of product certification and the removal of the requirement for state registration.

Now, the practice of introducing a declaration of conformity for products has been launched, which demonstrates the creation of a favorable business environment for investors. The project is part of 32 investment initiatives with a total value of $166 million, planned until the end of 2025.

Within this program, the aim is to create 1,500 jobs, increase production and export volumes, and also lower the prices of certain products. The baby diaper market is one of the fastest-growing segments of consumer goods in Central Asia, primarily due to the high birth rates in the region.
