Illegal gold trade stopped in Kashkadarya

Officers of the State Security Service of the Kashkadarya region, together with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, conducted an operative event in Kattaqo‘rg‘on district of Samarkand region.

During the operation, three citizens born in 1982, 1984, and 1996, residing in Navoi and Samarkand regions, attempted to illegally sell the buyer 2 gold bars weighing a total of 475 grams and had received 500 million soms in advance, when they were caught with physical evidence.

According to the conclusion of the State Assay Control Inspectorate, the pure weight of these gold bars with 994 fineness is 472 grams, with a total value of 740.4 million soms.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 177, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are ongoing. It is noted that two of them had previously been convicted, and one is currently serving a corrective labor sentence.
