In Tashkent, the flow of cars is increasing every year: currently, more than 800 thousand vehicles move through the capital’s streets, and an additional 150–300 thousand enter the city daily. According to specialists, without modern solutions, traffic congestion may worsen even further in the coming years.
For this reason, by presidential decision, a Unified Traffic Management Center is being established in the capital. It will regulate the traffic flow throughout the city through a single digital system. Within the project, 600 major intersections will be connected to a special “digital map,” and traffic lights will be controlled by artificial intelligence in real time.
According to official calculations, the new system will reduce traffic congestion by 30 percent, and the average travel speed will increase to 44 km/h. Waiting time at traffic lights will decrease by 35 percent, which will significantly save residents’ time.
Experts believe that these reforms will not only optimize traffic flow but also improve the overall quality of life. Combined with eco-friendly transport, the system is expected to transform Tashkent into an even safer, more comfortable, and modern megapolis.
