The volume of accommodation and food services in Uzbekistan has grown sharply

Since the beginning of 2026, there has been a noticeable revival in the service sector in the country. In particular, the total volume of accommodation and food services in January reached almost 13.8 trillion soums, which indicates an increase in economic activity. This indicator is 27.1% higher than in the same period last year, which clearly demonstrates the stable development of the industry.
According to experts, such growth is directly related to the increase in tourist flow, the activation of domestic travel, and the expansion of service infrastructure. That is, more people are traveling, more are using the services of restaurants and hotels - and this is heating up the market.
In terms of regions, the highest result was traditionally attributed to the capital. The volume of accommodation and food services in Tashkent amounted to 2.6 trillion soums, which is significantly ahead of other regions. An important factor here is the large number of hotels, cafes, and restaurants, as well as the high quality of service.
In the second place are Kashkadarya and Samarkand regions, where services worth 1.7 trillion soums were provided. It is said that tourism factors in Samarkand and domestic economic activity in Kashkadarya gave impetus to growth.
Namangan (1.4 trillion soums) and Fergana (1.3 trillion soums) regions also showed high results and joined the ranks of regions actively participating in the services market. Also, stable growth was observed in such regions as Tashkent region, Andijan, Khorezm, and Bukhara.
Although the indicators in the remaining regions are relatively low, the overall trend remains positive. In particular, the volume of services is gradually increasing in Surkhandarya, Navoi, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya regions.
In general, the figures clearly show one thing: the service sector in Uzbekistan is no longer "secondary," but is becoming one of the drivers of the economy. If this trend continues, it is clear that in the coming years this sector will strengthen, creating new jobs and opportunities.
