Uzbekistan Senate strengthens administrative liability

At the latest plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Liability of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was discussed. This document aims to strengthen legality in society, enhance the legal protection of citizens, and ensure the transparency of the judicial system. This is reported by Uzdaily.uz reports .

According to the law, a new Article 178² is being introduced to prevent fraud in the automotive market. It establishes administrative liability for failing to inform a buyer that the odometer readings of a vehicle have been altered or replaced.

Additionally, the participation of a pedagogue or psychologist has been made mandatory in proceedings involving administrative offenses by minors. This change serves to consider the mental state of children and prevent pressure being exerted on them.

With this law, the institution of "recusal" and "self-recusal" in administrative offense proceedings is being systematized for the first time. Furthermore, the procedure for reducing the term of deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle or hunt has been improved, with the stipulation that this matter must be reviewed exclusively by a court. Senate members approved this Law.
