The US opposed calling Russia an "aggressor" in the G7 communiqué.
February 24 marks the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the start of hostilities. The US opposed using the term "aggressor" in its communiqué dedicated to this date, the British Financial Times newspaper wrote, citing its sources.
Also, the issue of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's participation in the virtual G7 summit to be held on Monday has not yet been clearly agreed. The Financial Times article draws attention to the possibility that this will disrupt the West's "traditional expression of solidarity."
We remind you that since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine on February 20, for the first time, the United States of America did not co-sponsor the draft resolution dedicated to Ukraine against Russia in the UN General Assembly.
