Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US President's special representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg in Kyiv on February 20. He reported this on his Telegram channel.

After the meeting, invited journalists expected politicians to address the press, but this did not happen.

At the request of the American side, the format of the event is only to take photos of the protocol. Statements, questions and answers are not planned, said Zelensky's press secretary Sergei Nikiforov.

Zelensky about the meeting

According to the president, they had a "good conversation with a lot of details." The sides exchanged detailed views on the situation on the battlefield, the return of prisoners and security guarantees. The Ukrainian president expressed his readiness to conclude a “really beneficial” agreement with Trump.

Ukraine has been striving for peace from the first seconds of this war, and we can and must make peace reliable and long-term so that Russia cannot start a war again. Ukraine is ready for a strong, truly beneficial agreement with the US president on investments and security. We have proposed the fastest and most constructive way to achieve results. Our team is ready to work 24/7, Zelensky said.

Trump Special Representative's Visit to Ukraine

Keith Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on the morning of February 19 for a three-day visit. On the same day, he was received by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky, the heads of the Ukrainian special services, as well as the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak.

On February 20, Kellogg met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiu. According to the Foreign Minister, at the meeting the parties discussed ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.

"I confirmed Ukraine's readiness to achieve peace by force and that we will take the necessary steps. I also reiterated that the security of Ukraine and the transatlantic alliance are indivisible," he said on the X social network.

Trump calls Zelensky a "dictator without elections"

A dictator without elections. Zelensky must act quickly, otherwise his country will be completely destroyed. We are successfully negotiating with Russia to end the war. Everyone has recognized that only Trump and his administration can do this, the US leader said.

He added that “he loves Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a very bad job, which has led to the destruction of his country and the deaths of millions of people for no reason.”

Trump claimed that Zelensky had persuaded the United States to allocate $350 billion for “a war that should never have been started and could never be won.” The Ukrainian president said that reports that Washington had allegedly provided Kiev with $500 billion in aid were not true.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Response

Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga responded to the US president’s threats by saying that Ukraine had withstood the most horrific military attack in modern European history and three years of full-scale war.

The Ukrainian people and their President Volodymyr Zelensky have refused to bow to Putin’s pressure. No one can force Ukraine to surrender. We will continue to defend our right to exist, he stressed.
