The United States has decided to suspend military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt. According to her, Washington will stop providing financial and military assistance to Ukraine from now on and will focus on peace negotiations.
"We are no longer ready to allocate unlimited financial resources to continue the war in a country far from the United States. The most important issue now is to create a real and solid foundation for peace," Levitt said.
Zelensky and Trump meeting: heated arguments
On February 28, US President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. According to sources, the talks in the Oval Office took place in a tense atmosphere.
During the meeting, Zelensky stressed that Kiev is not ready to cease fire and is demanding security guarantees from the United States.
Trump responded sharply to these demands, saying that "America does not need to take instructions from Kiev on how to behave." He also noted that Ukraine should make compromises for peace, and if Kiev refuses to make an agreement, Washington will not participate in such a process.
This incident is another proof of a sharp change in US policy towards Ukraine, and time will tell what direction Washington's relations with Kiev will take in the future. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
