How did Zelensky react to the end of US military aid?
On March 4, US President Donald Trump decided to suspend all military assistance to Ukraine. This led to serious changes in relations between Kiev and Washington.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the country's defense minister, intelligence services and diplomats to obtain official information on the fate of US military assistance.

Zelensky: Ukraine and the US deserve open dialogue

Commenting on the suspension of assistance, the Ukrainian president answered the most important question that interests many today:

“What will happen next with American assistance?”

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine wants to clarify this issue:

✅ “I instructed the defense minister, intelligence chiefs and diplomats to contact their counterparts in the US and get official information. People should not speculate. Ukraine and America need to know their exact positions. There is a large-scale war going on now, and it is important to protect human lives,” Zelensky said.

Despite the cessation of US aid, Ukraine maintains stability

The Ukrainian leader noted that over the past few weeks, there have been various signals from the United States, and the cessation of military aid is a process that has already taken place.

“Humanitarian aid and energy assistance have also been stopped. Military aid was also temporarily stopped at the end of January, but then everything was quickly restored. We were able to foresee the dangers and develop algorithms for action.”

“It is not 2022. Now we are more stable. We have the means of defense.”

Zelensky noted that it is important for Ukraine to maintain normal partnership relations with America in order to end the war.

Trump Receives “Peace Signals” from Ukraine and Russia

Following Trump’s decision, the US president announced on March 5 that he had received an “important letter” from Ukraine.

“This letter indicates that Ukraine is ready for peace talks,” Trump said.

He also noted that Russia has also received “strong signals” about peace talks.

According to Washington officials, if Zelensky demonstrates a commitment to peace, the US will return to talks with Kiev.

US Military Aid to Ukraine

The United States has provided $65.9 billion in military aid to Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

🔹 This money was spent on the supply of weapons, military equipment for soldiers, drones and defense systems to Ukraine.
🔹 However, Washington did not provide exact information on how much weapons it has sent to Ukraine.

What direction will Ukraine-US relations take?

🔹 The US has temporarily suspended military aid to Ukraine.
🔹 Zelensky is trying to continue negotiations with the Trump administration and get official information.
🔹 Ukraine has stressed that it seeks to maintain cooperation with the US to end the war.
🔹 Trump said that he has received "strong signals" from Ukraine and Russia about peace talks.

How Ukraine-US relations develop in the coming days will depend on the peace talks and Washington's new policy.
