The Russian President expressed his opinion on the situation in Ukraine at a meeting with employees of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. According to him, Russia wants to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine on terms favorable to it.
"We must choose a peace option that suits us, one that will ensure peace for our country in the long-term. We need an option that will ensure the sustainable development of our country in conditions of peace and security. We do not need anything from anyone, but we will not give up our own," Putin said.
What conditions is Moscow putting forward?
Putin listed the following conditions for a ceasefire in Ukraine:
1. The Ukrainian Armed Forces must completely withdraw from the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhia;
2. Ukraine must refuse to join NATO.
At the same time, Moscow rejected the possibility of territorial concessions and condemned the idea of \u200b\u200bplacing peacekeeping forces on Ukrainian territory, proposed by European countries.
