Russian President Vladimir Putin presented US President Donald Trump with a portrait of him and said that he prayed for his well-being during the assassination attempt. This was reported by Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.
During the interview, Witkoff stressed that he does not consider Putin a bad person. In his opinion, the war was caused not by one person, but by several factors.
As Witkoff recalls, his second visit to Russia was "on a personal level", because during the meeting Putin handed him a portrait of Trump painted by a Russian artist and asked him to deliver it to the American president. Putin also said he prayed for Trump during the assassination attempt.
“He prayed for Trump not because he was or could be the president of the United States, but because he was his friend. He prayed for his friend... When I got home, I told the president and gave him the portrait. It certainly touched him,” Witkoff said.
The special envoy said the “kind gesture” restored “communication” between Trump and Putin. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
