A sensational event on the American political scene! Famous journalist Jeffrey Goldberg accidentally joined a secret military chat of US government officials. And it turned out that behind this coincidence was not only information security, but also the "smart" algorithm of the iPhone!
According to The Guardian, when the US military operations in Yemen were being discussed in a secret group on the Signal messenger belonging to the Donald Trump administration, journalist Jeffrey Goldberg also participated in this chat. How did it happen?
The story goes like this: US President's National Security Advisor Mike Walz used his iPhone to save National Security Council Press Secretary Brian Hughes as a contact. However, the smartphone mistakenly saved journalist Goldberg's number under Hughes' name. And so the journalist was "officially" added to the state's secret chat.
Goldberg reported this incident on March 24 in The Atlantic magazine. According to him, he witnessed US officials discussing operations in Yemen. The photos show serious conversations between JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, John Ratcliffe, Michael Waltz and others.

Here are some of the statements the journalist saw:
- “I don’t like bailing out Europe again.”
- “We need to work on reducing the risk to Saudi oil facilities.”
- “This is a strong start. Great job, Pete!”
Today, digital security is a critical issue for any country. This incident clearly shows that even a “smart” phone can make mistakes, and mistakes can have very serious consequences. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
