An employee of the Russian House in Kyrgyzstan was arrested on suspicion of hiring mercenaries

Natalya Sekerina, an employee of the Russian House in the city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan, was arrested by the country's special services on suspicion of recruiting mercenaries to participate in foreign armed conflicts. This was reported by the TASS news agency.

According to the press service of the Pervomai District Court of the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, the request of the investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the State National Security Committee to apply a preventive measure of arrest to the suspect was granted.

According to the court's decision, Natalya Sekerina will be in custody until June 17 of this year and investigative work will be conducted.

The suspect is charged under the article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on recruiting, financing, materially providing, training mercenaries, as well as using them in military operations with the aim of participating in armed conflicts in foreign countries, overthrowing state power or violating territorial integrity.

According to Kyrgyz legislation, such crimes, depending on the part of the article, are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years. In this case, the first part provides for a term of imprisonment of 7 to 10 years.

Along with Natalia Sekerina, four more people were detained in this criminal case, in particular, an employee of the press service of the Osh city administration.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
