In Iran, a father brutally killed his daughter who worked in a beauty salon

A terrible crime was committed in the Iranian city of Islamshahr due to the cruelty of a father. 18-year-old Fatima Sultani was killed by her own father for secretly working in a women's beauty salon, Iran Wire reports.

It turns out that Fatima worked in a beauty salon in secret, fearing her father's harsh and violent actions, and lived an independent life.

Her father accidentally found his daughter's workplace on the social network Instagram and, posing as a client, went to the beauty salon. The girl was very worried when she saw her father outside and called her mother for advice.

Women's rights activist Pardis Rabiei said witnesses saw a father enter a salon with a knife and stab his daughter several times in front of everyone. He even tried to pull her head off by grabbing her hair. However, after being screamed at bystanders, the perpetrator fled the scene. He later called his wife and said, "I left you with this grief."

The HRANA news agency reported that the perpetrator was soon arrested and a criminal case was opened against him.

According to the Etemad newspaper, 78 women were killed by their relatives in Iran between March and September 2024. The Shargh newspaper reported that at least 165 women were killed by men in their families between 2021 and 2023. There are no official statistics on such cases in the country.
