“War with Russia?”: The Kazakh Defense Ministry clarified the rumors

Recently, some foreign media outlets have reported that Kazakhstan is deploying military forces to the border areas with Russia and is preparing for a possible conflict. The Kazakh Ministry of Defense has officially responded to these reports, according to Stopfake.kz.

Some publications, in particular, RTVI and the Charter 97% portals, reported that Kazakhstan has begun deploying a large group of territorial defense brigades to the border areas with Russia, and that this move is allegedly related to the possibility of a conflict between the two countries.

The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan emphasizes that the draft law "On Territorial Defense" currently being developed aims to strengthen the country's internal security. This law aims to adapt the national security system to modern requirements, protect the population, important infrastructure facilities and the territorial integrity of the state in any emergency situation.

According to the ministry, the process of forming territorial defense forces is being carried out not in response to external threats, but in a planned manner based on the logistics, demographics and geographical features of the country's territories.

The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan emphasizes that the draft law is not directed against any state, and it is incorrect to interpret it as a military threat.

Also, on April 24, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev once again confirmed at a meeting of the country's Security Council that the Russian Federation is Kazakhstan's closest strategic partner and reliable ally. The head of state also stressed the need to take decisive action against any intrigues and provocations aimed at disrupting interethnic harmony in the country.

"Russia remains Kazakhstan's main strategic partner and reliable ally. Resolute measures will be taken against any incitements and provocations aimed at undermining interethnic harmony."

With this statement, the official Nur-Sultan showed that it will not tolerate any misinterpretations.

A territorial defense system is a necessary guarantee of internal security for any country. Interpreting it as an external war can be a misconception or simply manipulation. Kazakh officials have made a clear and unambiguous statement on the situation - there are no preparations against any country, the main goal is internal stability.

It should be noted that friendly and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia have a long history.
