India demolishes homes of terror suspects

The Indian government has demolished at least 10 houses belonging to people suspected of involvement in terrorist attacks in Kashmir. This was reported by the BBC news agency.

The demolition of houses belonging to those accused of terrorism began on April 29 in a demonstrative manner by special forces. At the same time, local authorities refrain from officially linking these actions to the terrorist attack in the Baysaran Valley. However, more than 1,500 people have been arrested so far as part of the raids launched against terrorism.

Also today, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif made a very serious statement. According to him, an Indian military incursion into Pakistani territory "has now become inevitable." The Pakistani minister said that the country is taking preventive measures in this regard and is consulting with partner countries.

It should be recalled that on April 22, militants launched an armed attack on tourists in the Baisaran Valley in Kashmir. As a result of this terrible incident, 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali were killed. The Resistance Front, a group operating in Pakistan and affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization operating in Indian-controlled Kashmir, claimed responsibility for the attack. This organization is officially banned in both Pakistan and India. However, the Indian government accuses this terrorist group of being supported by Pakistani officials.

After the attack, relations between the two countries deteriorated sharply and a number of restrictions were introduced. India and Pakistan canceled mutual visas, reduced the number of staff in diplomatic missions. India also unilaterally suspended the 1960 Indian Waters Treaty. In response, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian airlines.
