Plane Lands in the Amazon: Passengers Miraculously Survive
On May 1 of this year, a small plane flying from the airport in the northern Bolivian city of Buares to Trinidad made an emergency landing in the Amazon rainforest. It turned out that the plane’s engine had developed a technical malfunction during the flight.

There were one pilot, three women and a five-year-old child on board the plane. All of them survived the accident. The victims were trapped in the roof of the plane in the middle of the swamp for about 36 hours until help arrived. During this time, they survived on the chocolate and manos flour they had on hand.

36 hours after the accident, local residents who were hunting and fishing in the area noticed the plane stuck in the swamp and people waiting for help on it. They immediately reported the situation to the rescue services.

Rescuers evacuated the victims from the swamp area using a helicopter. It is said that the smell of fuel leaking from the plane deterred nearby crocodiles from approaching the people, which helped save their lives.

The incident attracted widespread attention not only in Bolivia but around the world. The survivors are reported to be in good health and are no longer in danger.
