ChatGPT banned in Kazakhstan: civil servants will now use only local artificial intelligence!
Kazakhstan has made significant changes in the use of artificial intelligence. The country has officially banned the use of the ChatGPT system for civil servants. This was announced by the country's Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Kanish Toleushin.

According to him, a ministerial order was approved to restrict the use of ChatGPT by employees of state agencies in the performance of official duties. The main reason for taking such a measure was the risk of confidential information being leaked.

Following this decision, employees working in state agencies and organizations were offered the use of a local artificial intelligence solution developed by scientists from Nazarbayev University. This system, developed by local specialists, is located on servers in a closed and secure manner, minimizing the risk of data being leaked.

Kanish Toleushin emphasized that the transition to local artificial intelligence is not only important from a security point of view, but also a necessary step for the development of expertise and competencies in this area within the country.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister admitted that today it is not possible to determine which artificial intelligence platform a specific task was performed on. Nevertheless, it is expected that the control system in state organizations will be strengthened and serious measures will be taken to implement this ban.

According to reports, some local experts have different opinions on this decision. Some consider it a necessary step for the country's security, while others speak about the negative effects of moving away from global technologies.

In any case, this decision of Kazakhstan can be an important step towards achieving independence in the field of artificial intelligence, encouraging local talents and ensuring the country's security.
