A volcano erupted in Indonesia: the population was warned, the danger level was raised
The Levotobi Laki-laki volcano in eastern Indonesia has become active again. According to CNBC Indonesia and Central Asia, this natural phenomenon is causing serious concern among the population of the region and official authorities.

A column of smoke rose into the sky

A column of ash and thick smoke rising from the volcano reached a height of 5.5 km, that is, about 7 thousand meters above sea level. The alert level has been raised, and the government has raised the volcanic activity level from level III to level IV - the highest level of danger.

Winds are spreading ash

According to experts, the constant movement of the wind is spreading ash particles over a wide area. This indicates that the volcanic activity is still unstable and at a high level. Therefore, citizens are advised to stay away from areas with a potential for natural hazards.

Approach within a radius of 6–7 km is prohibited

Local authorities and rescue services have advised the population, especially tourists, not to approach within a radius of 6–7 km around the volcano, and to remain calm. It was noted that in rainy weather conditions, the risk of lava flows and floods cannot be ignored.

From the Zamin.uz editorial office:
The activation of the Levotoby volcano is once again a reminder that Indonesia is a seismically active region. Preparing for natural disasters and taking safety measures is the first task of every citizen and government agencies. We are closely monitoring the process.
