Trump-Musk feud heats up: Fierce spat on social media
The conflict between U.S. President Donald Trump and Tesla and SpaceX founder, famous billionaire Elon Musk, has intensified even further.

The incident began on June 5 at a press conference held at the White House. After a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump harshly criticized Musk for opposing a bill related to the country’s budget.

"I used to have a good relationship with Elon. Now, I don’t know if that connection will be restored. He used to express positive opinions about me, but in the current situation, maybe that won’t be the case in the future," — said Trump during a conversation with journalists in the Oval Office.

The former president emphasized that Musk had been well aware of this bill. "Elon understands this law better than anyone else, and at first he didn’t object to it, but then suddenly changed his mind," — said Trump.

"I’m very disappointed in Elon Musk. I helped him a lot," — the former head of state added with regret. According to him, the head of Tesla may have been upset over the cancellation of subsidies for electric vehicles.

Musk immediately responded to this criticism via his social network X (formerly Twitter) and emphasized that he is not against the reduction of incentives in the state budget for electric cars and solar energy. However, at the same time, he expressed strong dissatisfaction with the fact that subsidies in the oil and gas sector were not touched at all.

Shortly afterward, Musk made an even sharper statement: "If it weren’t for my support, Trump wouldn’t have been able to win the elections. The Democrats would have fully controlled both chambers of Congress," — the billionaire declared.

Elon Musk also called Trump’s claim that he was well-informed about the bill a lie and noted that no one in Congress had even managed to read the bill in full.

At the same time, he launched a poll on social media regarding the formation of a new political party. In the poll, 80 percent of participants voted for creating a new party that would represent the interests of the majority of the American population.

Musk made another very important statement, saying that Donald Trump had ties to Jeffrey Epstein, who was involved in trafficking underage individuals. He claimed that this may be the reason why this information has not yet been disclosed. As is known, Epstein committed suicide in prison several years ago, and since then, the public has been demanding the full release of his client list. Trump, while president, had promised to disclose this data, but in the end, only outdated portions were released.

In turn, Trump also responded sharply to Musk on his social network Truth Social. He considered the billionaire to have "crossed the line" and announced the cancellation of mandatory purchase requirements for electric vehicles concerning Tesla.

Additionally, Trump called for the complete termination of all financial aid and subsidies being given to Musk by the government. "The best way to save billions of dollars is to stop the subsidies being given to Musk," — he said.

Earlier, Musk had harshly criticized the new tax incentives bill, calling it a "disgusting corruption." In his opinion, the law seriously harms the financial interests of Tesla.

Thus, relations between the two prominent figures have sharply cooled. How long this conflict will last and what their influence on the political scene will be remains an intriguing question for many.
