Dangerous night in Lviv: Russia launches drone strike

The war front in Ukraine has heated up again — on the night of July 12, Saturday, Russian troops carried out a large drone strike on the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, local officials reported. According to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv regional military administration, more than 10 Shahed-type drones attacked the city and its center.

As a result of the strike, a residential building in the city center suffered significant damage. Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported via Telegram that the roof of a non-residential building also caught fire. Rescue operations are currently underway at the scene, and information about casualties is being updated.

In other western regions of Ukraine — Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne — alerts were also declared due to the air raid, but no damage was recorded there.

This time, Russian forces used long-range drones and aviation capabilities. According to a statement by the Polish Army’s operational command, the strikes were carried out by Russian long-range aviation. As a result, “Poland and allied air forces” took precautionary measures in their own airspace.

According to the Polish military, a pair of duty fighter jets was scrambled, and ground air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were put on high alert. These measures were taken to enhance regional security against possible air attacks.

Experts note that this attack in Lviv is causing serious concern for Western countries as well. These events require a fundamental reconsideration of security systems and military approaches in the region. The war in Ukraine continues to urge everyone to remain constantly alert and prepared.
