At a time when the security environment in Europe is becoming increasingly tense, US Air Force Lieutenant General Alexus Grynkewich, who leads NATO’s allied forces on the continent, announced that all necessary preparations had begun for the urgent delivery of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, reports dw.com.
Grynkewich said at a conference in Wiesbaden, Germany: “Preparations are progressing intensively; we are coordinating the delivery of the Patriot systems in close cooperation with Germany. I have been instructed to do everything as quickly as possible.” These remarks suggest that Ukraine is expected to move to a new level in air defense.
Meanwhile, a representative of the German Ministry of Defense said that he did not have specific information as to whether any parts of the Patriot system had already been sent to Ukraine or were currently en route: “I cannot confirm at this time that anything has already been dispatched.” The cautious statements of officials are also noteworthy in this regard.
It is noted that on July 21, a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format will be held, at which new ways of accelerating the delivery of Patriot surface-to-air missile systems to Ukraine to defend against Russian air attacks will be discussed.
Experts emphasize that this step will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and may lead to serious changes in the security balance on the continent. Fans and experts are increasingly following this process — the appearance of a new air defense barrier for Ukraine through Patriot systems is expected. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
