An unexpected incident occurred in China: a 75-year-old retiree fell in love with a girl created by artificial intelligence and demanded a divorce from his real wife. This was reported by Pravilamag.
A man named Jiang came across a female avatar while browsing social networks. He did not realize that the picture was fake and began chatting normally. Even when the lips and speech did not match during conversations, he did not find it strange.
Over time, chatting with the virtual girl became part of his daily routine. He spent hours on his phone, waiting for her new messages. One day, because of his excessive attachment to the phone, he quarreled with his wife and decided to divorce her for the sake of his virtual lover.
However, his children intervened and convinced Jiang that the girl was not real. They explained to him that his “beloved” was nothing more than a creation of a neural network.
It is noted that this is not the first such case. Relationships have also broken down in other countries because of artificial intelligence. For example, in the US, a woman divorced her husband after 20 years of marriage due to her “relationship” with ChatGPT. Another man, despite having a wife and child, proposed to his neural network “companion” this May.
