In the U.S. capital Washington, during a large-scale special operation conducted in cooperation with federal and local law enforcement agencies, 68 people were arrested. This was reported by the country’s Attorney General Pam Bondi on the social network X.
According to her, last night a crime-fighting raid was carried out with the participation of federal officers and Columbia police. As a result, more than 300 individuals were registered in a single night, 15 illegal firearms were confiscated, and a number of criminal cases were opened.
“Together with our federal partners, 68 people were detained. Among them are suspects in murder, those engaged in drug trafficking, as well as individuals who committed various offenses,” Bondi said.
According to reports, some of those arrested had previously been on the wanted list. At present, investigative and judicial proceedings are being conducted against them.
Such a large-scale operation has been carried out in Washington for the first time in recent months. Experts emphasize that these measures are aimed at ensuring security in the city and sharply reducing the level of crime.
