In the Gaza Strip, more than half a million people are suffering from hunger and harsh living conditions.
Reem Tawfiq Khader, a mother from Gaza, said that her family had not eaten any protein for five months. Her four-year-old child does not even know what fruits and vegetables look like. Their situation is similar to that of many families in the sector.
A woman named Rajaa Talbeh lives in a tent with her six children and has lost 25 kilograms in recent months. She used to receive special dietary food through charities, but now it is impossible to find or afford such products in the markets.
Children are suffering the most. For example, the weight of five-year-old Lamia has nearly halved since the war began. She has lost the ability to walk due to lack of proper nutrition. Doctors cannot help her because there is a shortage of medicines and food.
According to the Ministry of Health, during the war hundreds of people, including children, have died from hunger. Residents survive day by day, while food and medicine for children are very expensive. The UN and international organizations are demanding that Israel allow more aid into Gaza, but the situation remains extremely difficult.
