In the US state of Louisiana, an emergency occurred at the Smitty’s Supply motor oil production plant. According to reports, a series of powerful explosions took place on the factory grounds, after which a large fire broke out.
Eyewitnesses stated that after the explosions, thick black smoke rose above the plant for several hours. Videos recorded by local residents and drivers show the extreme intensity of the fire and the sequence of repeated explosions. This was reported by Life Times.
According to ABC News, urgent measures were taken to ensure the safety of the population. Immediate evacuation began for residents of the nearest city — Roseland, located about 2 kilometers from the plant. Rescuers and local authorities demanded that residents move away from the dangerous area.
Reports indicate that the first explosion occurred in the main production workshop of the enterprise. The flames engulfed a large part of the factory, followed by several more explosions. This further intensified the fire and made it more difficult to bring under control.
At present, firefighters and emergency services continue to work tirelessly to extinguish the fire at the plant. Officials have stated that the causes of the incident and the scale of the damage are being thoroughly investigated.
