One of the unique discoveries in the world of cats is the Caracat breed, which today attracts worldwide attention. This hybrid was created by crossing a domestic cat with a wild caracal, and its main author is considered to be the founder and breeder of the Vipaleo company — Hanna Kuzmina.
In one of her interviews, Kuzmina said:
“We bred the world’s first official Caracat breed. The main goal of our work was to create a genetically stable hybrid with strong health, balanced behavior, and capable of interacting with humans,” she emphasized.
Her first steps in this field began in 2010 in Ukraine, where she worked with servals, ocelots, and caracals. A year later, Vipaleo was officially established, and since then it has become a leading brand in the world in breeding the Caracat breed.
Caracat’s distinctive features
Caracats stand out with their appearance: caracal-like ears, predator-like body shape, and unusual colors make them exotic. However, the biggest difference of this breed is its sociability and ability to build close relationships with humans. They like water, adapt quickly to walks, and can even be taken on a leash.
According to Hanna Kuzmina, the main goal in this direction is to ensure the genetic stability of Caracats. Over years of selection work, they have acquired not only an exotic appearance but also a healthy body and balanced behavior.
First presentation in Uzbekistan
In April 2018, Kuzmina was invited as a VIP guest to the “Kashmir-2018” international exhibition in Tashkent. It was there that the first presentation of the Caracat in Uzbekistan took place. At this exhibition, the breeder told the guests about the behavior of Caracats, their care, and rules of safe keeping.
According to Kuzmina, local specialists and visitors showed great interest, asked questions, and it became an unforgettable professional experience for her. On the same day, the “Dunyo Boylab” TV channel prepared a special report about her work, showing interesting footage related to the behavior and care of Caracats.
International achievements
Today the Vipaleo brand is recognized worldwide. In 2020, the company was the first to create blue Caracats. In 2021, Caracat×Caracat offspring was achieved, which became a big step in breeding. In 2022, due to the war, the company had to relocate from Ukraine to Florida, USA, where it continued and further developed its activity.
According to Hanna, today the rarest Caracats are born and raised under their care. “Each achievement strengthens my love for my work,” she said.
Future plans
Kuzmina is engaged not only in breeding but also collaborates as a scientific expert with various veterinary clinics and organizations. She provides advice on issues related to the health, behavior, nutrition, safety, and legislation of hybrid cats.
The main goal for the future is to further improve Caracats as a genetically stable, socially adaptable, and ethically bred breed. In addition, she intends to strengthen cooperation internationally, including with Central Asia and, in particular, Uzbekistan.
“The exhibition in Uzbekistan was an important stage for me. Therefore, in the future I plan to further develop cooperation with colleagues here,” the breeder said.
