In the Black Rock Desert of America, a sandstorm ahead of the annual "Burning Man" festival caused significant problems. This unexpected event caused many issues for festival participants and tourists, with the sandstorm quickly leading to a number of damages.
The wind speed reached 80 km/h, and the dust lifted from the dry lakebed in the desert reduced visibility to 30 cm. This created difficulties for the festival organizers and caused damage to the participants' resting areas.
Due to the sandstorm hitting Phoenix Airport, all flights were temporarily canceled. As a result of the disaster, the airport was left without electricity, and the storm blew off the roofs of several buildings. This drastically changed the event's planning, as many festival travelers lost their flights.
It was also recalled that on September 3, 2023, participants of the "Burning Man" festival faced difficulties in the desert due to heavy rain.
