Chinese woman finds her mother on live TV after 30 years

A woman in China found her mother, who had been missing for over 30 years, in an interesting and astonishing way through a live broadcast. This was reported by South China Morning Post.

A girl named Yan, 32 years old, works at a shoe factory in Wenzhou city. Recently, she participated in a live broadcast on a short video platform. At that time, she saw a woman named Su, who looked very similar to her. Su, 52 years old, is known on social media under the name “Looking for my second daughter” and has been trying to find her daughter since 2022.

Yan was adopted as a child and did not remember her biological family. After growing up, she began searching for her parents. Seeing a woman who looked like her in the live broadcast, Yan immediately commented: “I may be your daughter.”

After that, Su encouraged Yan to contact the police. With the help of the police, they established contact, and a DNA test confirmed the mother-daughter relationship. In an interview, Su said her daughter was the youngest in the family and had to be given to relatives due to financial difficulties. Later, Yan was placed with another family that did not have children. So far, the 32-year-old Yan has not disclosed whether she will return to her biological family.

According to sources, as of June 2022, 11,198 missing children in China were returned to their families with the help of the DNA-based search system. The story of Yan and Su once again demonstrated the power of this system and the importance of luck in a person’s life.
