A stabbing incident occurred in the Canadian province of Manitoba. According to police, one person was killed and at least six were injured. The suspect also died at the scene.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police described the incident as a “mass casualty event.” Official reports confirmed that eight people were transported to hospitals by ambulance and air. Their injuries are said to vary in severity.
Police informed local residents that there was no danger to the public. They also said there would be an increased police presence in the area throughout the day.
Provincial authorities expressed condolences to the victims and their families. An investigation is underway.
