A strange and unusual incident occurred in Germany’s political scene. Ahead of the local elections scheduled for September, seven candidates in North Rhine-Westphalia passed away. This event attracted significant public attention in the country and raised many questions, Euro News reported.
According to the information, all of the deceased candidates were representatives of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. For this reason, some political observers and journalists could not avoid linking their deaths to a possible conspiracy. The fact that members of the same party died aroused particular suspicion among the public.
However, local authorities rejected such assumptions. They stated that although the death of candidates before elections is very rare, there have been such cases in history. But this time, the number of deaths is indeed higher than usual.
According to an official statement from the police, it has so far been confirmed that four candidates died of natural causes. Investigations are still ongoing regarding the remaining three cases.
Analysts believe that such events before elections can lead to various problems and speculations in the political environment. This, in turn, may affect both citizens’ trust and the transparency of the electoral process.
