U.S. President Donald Trump, after the immigration raid at the Hyundai plant in Georgia, called on foreign companies to comply with immigration laws. He said companies need to hire American workers and train them.
Last week, federal agents arrested 475 workers at Hyundai's battery plant, including 300 South Korean nationals. The South Korean government is working to repatriate its citizens.
Trump wrote on social media that he supports foreign investments, but in return demands opportunities for American workers.
He also said that the issue of temporarily allowing some foreign specialists into the U.S. to train American workers could be considered.
