According to information provided by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, measures against crime related to illegal migrants are being strengthened in the country. It was also noted that control over employers employing migrants has been tightened.
It was noted that the number of unscheduled inspections of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs has increased significantly. In particular, the number of examinations increased by 14.6 percent, and 6,367 cases were registered. As a result, 19,839 offenses were revealed.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 587.8 thousand migration-related violations were identified in the first half of 2025. This figure is 17% higher than last year. Among them, cases of illegal residence increased by 28%, and violations related to employment through the labor market - by 52%.
At the same time, the indicators of registration and temporary registration have sharply decreased. For example, the number of permits issued in the first half of the year decreased by 16.6 thousand, falling by 31%. Residence permits decreased by 80.1 thousand, a 32% decrease.
The report notes that this year, 791 individuals were issued decisions to revoke Russian citizenship. It was also noted that the number of job placement notifications for foreigners has increased.
Thus, the policy of the Russian government on migration issues is becoming increasingly strict. It is noted that this is being done to ensure internal security and the rule of law in the country.
