11-year-old boy hospitalized after 14-hour class

In China's Hunan province, an 11-year-old schoolboy seriously harmed his health by trying to excessively complete his homework, local media reported.

It is reported that on August 26, a boy named Liang Liang studied continuously from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The student tried to complete all his summer assignments in one day. After several hours, he began experiencing symptoms such as dizziness, numbness in his hands and feet, headache, and shortness of breath.

His parents immediately took him to a doctor. Specialists diagnosed him with hyperventilation syndrome. This condition occurred in the student as a result of continuous mental and emotional strain without rest.

The boy was given a special breathing mask, and his condition stabilized in a short time. Doctors emphasize that such cases are often linked to parental pressure, pre-exam anxiety, or prolonged use of gadgets.

Hyperventilation syndrome can cause not only shortness of breath but also increased heart rate, muscle cramps, and in severe cases, can be life-threatening.

Throughout August, more than 30 children with the same symptoms sought emergency medical help in the province. This figure is 10 times higher than in previous months.
