Man in Thailand deliberately stole a ring to get jailed

In Thailand, an unusual incident occurred that sparked wide discussion on social media. In Udon Thani province, a 30-year-old man named Pakin stole an expensive ring from a jewelry store, deliberately wanting to be arrested.

According to reports, he entered the store and asked the sellers: “If I walk out with this ring, will I be arrested?” After hearing the answer, he took the ring and fearlessly headed outside.

The store employees immediately detained him and handed him over to the police. Interestingly, Pakin did not resist and admitted that he committed the act intentionally. During interrogation, he stated that he had previously been in prison, that life in freedom was difficult for him, and that he preferred the strict prison order.

According to him, family problems and drug addiction made him feel cut off from society. Therefore, he deliberately chose the path of crime to return to prison.

At the same time, the store owner did not file a claim against him, so no punishment was imposed for the theft. However, the police, taking into account his drug addiction, brought charges and sent him to a rehabilitation center.

Experts note that such cases indicate serious psychological difficulties and problems of social adaptation. If society lacks a strong system of support and psychological assistance, people may even prefer prison life to freedom.
