North Korean leader Kim Jong Un expressed his readiness for negotiations with North Korea if the US stops demanding the renunciation of nuclear weapons. In his speech at the Supreme People's Assembly on September 21 in the country's parliament, Kim Jong Un stated: "If the United States abandons the fantasy of denuclearization and wants to accept the truth and live peacefully with us, then there is no reason why we cannot achieve this."
Furthermore, the North Korean leader added, "The world already knows what the US will do after forcing the country to renounce nuclear weapons." According to Kim, "We will never give up our nuclear weapons." Kim Jong-un's words were covered by the state news agency KCNA.
Kim Jong Un also stated that he "has nothing to do" with the South Korean government. Kim Jong Un also noted that he has preserved positive memories of successful contacts with US President Donald Trump. He said that meetings with Trump were productive and constructive for him.
These statements by the North Korean leader have further intensified discussions on nuclear weapons, one of the biggest issues in international politics. According to him, if the US wanted to cooperate and solve problems on the path to peace, North Korea was open to it and ready for cooperation.
