The Iranian Ministry of Education has included the 12-day war with Israel in its new textbooks. Minister Alireza Kazemi reported this. According to him, 3 special books have been prepared for elementary, middle, and high school students, in which the 12-day war is presented as an "unusual and beautiful" story. Iran's top leaders and commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard assessed this war as a victory for Iran.
Kazemy noted that in addition to the 12-day war, another 20 educational kits are in the process of development. These collections include Iran's missile program and a section titled "Hard Strike." The phrase "heavy strike" was previously associated with the limited missile strike carried out by the Commander of the Jerusalem Forces, Qasim Soleimani, in 2020, referring to Iran's targeting of the US military base in Iraq, Ain al-Assad. After this, pages dedicated to the memory of Suleimani were added to the school textbooks, and information about the warriors who perished in Syria was also included.
Since 1988, materials dedicated to significant events in Iran's military history or the memory of insurgents have been regularly featured in textbooks. Recently, materials about soldiers who died in Syria were also added to their schools, and they were officially called "mausoleum defenders."
Details of the 12-Day War
The 12-Day War began on June 13, 2024, when Israel launched a large-scale operation under the pretext of Iran's covert military-nuclear program. According to Axios, Israel conducted covert sabotage within Iran on June 13th, damaging strategic missile targets and defense systems. Simultaneously, the Hamdam and Tabriz air bases were attacked, and their drones and missile systems were destroyed.
Iran denied such accusations and launched attacks on the battlefield in response. During this 12-day confrontation, the US intervened and struck Iranian nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. In response, on June 23, Iran targeted the US base Al-Udeid in Qatar. At the same time, Tehran stated that it does not want the conflict to escalate and is against the war moving to the next stage.
This event plays an important role in the emergence of new problems in the sphere of international politics and security. A new phase of the protracted confrontation between Iran and Israel could lead to sharp political and economic consequences for both sides.
