Man in Kazakhstan tried to go to jail for free food

A man living in Akmola region committed a deliberate crime to get into prison and receive free food and clothing. This was reported by “Nur.kz”.

The court ruled against him for the third time for spreading false information about a terrorist threat. According to the court, the accused had previously been punished in 2019 and 2023 for similar false reports.

In August of this year, while working as a shepherd, the man called “112” and falsely reported a bomb at the bus station in Astana. Special services arrived at the scene and verified the information, which turned out to be false.

At trial, the accused fully admitted his guilt and explained that he acted this way because he currently had no permanent residence and wanted to obtain free food and clothing in prison.

Taking into account his previous convictions and the severity of the act, the court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. This case highlights the importance of knowing the law and personal responsibility.

It is worth noting that false actions to gain free services and benefits can have criminal consequences, and the law applies to everyone without exception.
