Alfreda Hawkins, a resident of Richmond, Virginia, USA, found an old lottery ticket while cleaning her cabinet and won a large prize of $100,000. This was reported by Metro. When Hawkins started checking the tickets she found, one of them turned out to be a winning ticket, which caused her incredible surprise.
“I was shocked! It was truly amazing,” Hawkins said excitedly.
She was presented with a huge $100,000 check at a special ceremony. According to the organizers, the odds of winning this prize were 1 in 1,101,600.
Hawkins has not yet decided how to spend the money. According to her, part of the sum will likely go to family expenses, and the rest will be spent on leisure and travel.
This win became another interesting story in the history of Virginia lotteries. Additionally, in September of this year, Kerry Edwards from Midlothian won $150,000 in the Virginia Lottery Powerball. She used ChatGPT’s advice in selecting the numbers, but the neural network did not guarantee the win; the randomly chosen numbers happened to be the winning ones.
These events once again proved that lottery wins depend solely on luck and chance, and online technologies cannot guarantee a victory.
