On October 2 of this year, in the city of Luoyang, Hunan Province, China, a drone show turned into a real scene of disaster for the audience, unlike an ordinary festive fireworks display. During the show, the colorful drones launched into the sky went out of control, and their burning fragments began to fall on the spectators and nearby trees. This quickly led to a forest fire caused by sparks. This was reported by NTDTV.
In videos circulating on the internet, the terrifying scene is clearly visible. As burning fragments fell among people, a disturbing situation arose, and a fire broke out near a hillside. The footage shows people’s panicked screams, noise, and disorder.
At the same time, the authorities tried to cover up the consequences of the incident. The administration of the park where the show was held declared the fire “insignificant” and emphasized that it had been quickly extinguished. The district authorities also stated that no one was injured and that the incident would not affect subsequent performances. However, eyewitnesses described the scene differently.
Tourists who had traveled a long way to watch the show shared their impressions and described the dreadful event on social media. “I traveled to Luoyang, I was there myself. The forest fire was extremely strong! In just a few seconds, small sparks turned into a terrible blaze,” said one of the spectators, expressing his feelings.
This incident once again brought the safety of drone shows into focus and showed the necessity of strict measures to ensure the safety of spectators.
