Compulsory hidjab law officially abolished in Iran

Mohammadreza Bahoner, a member of Iran's Council for the Purposefulness Review, announced that the enforcement of the mandatory hijab law in the country has been suspended. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Free Iran."

Bachoner emphasized that the hijab bill is no longer legally binding and will not be implemented in practice. In his opinion, wearing a hijab is not legally mandatory, and there are no fines or legal consequences for this. The police were also notified of this.

This statement was made against the backdrop of long-standing social debates and discussions regarding the hijab issue in the country. Now, for the first time in Iranian history, wearing a hijab is recognized as a personal choice, and every woman can make a decision according to her wishes.

This change is regarded as a significant historical step in the legal and social environment in Iran, further strengthening the principle of respect for personal freedom and choice.
