Thousands of US workers laid off
US President Donald Trump has begun laying off thousands of federal workers due to the government shutdown. He blamed the Democrats for this.

The layoffs started in the departments of Treasury, Health, Education, Commerce, and Homeland Security. About 4,200 workers have been notified.
