China increased its wheat purchases from Russia by 73 times in September, reaching $1.293 million, the highest figure since November 2024, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Chinese customs service. In addition to wheat, supplies of barley, which have been increasing for the fourth month in a row, also showed positive dynamics.
In September, the volume of supplies of this crop increased by a third and amounted to 9.84 million dollars. It was also noted that the volume of oat shipments increased to $3.267 million.
In September, the total volume of Chinese purchases of Russian grain increased by 13.3% compared to the previous month and amounted to $24.1 million. At the same time, grain imports from Russia to China decreased by one and a half times in annual terms.
