The Israeli government has officially banned the humanitarian activities of UNRWA, the UN agency for assisting Palestinian refugees in the Middle East, in the Gaza Strip.
This decision was made on October 22 after the International Criminal Court called on Israel not to obstruct the agency's work.
An Israeli official said:
"UNRWA will never set foot in Gaza again."
According to reports, Israel has also notified the US administration and expressed its strong opposition to the agency's participation in humanitarian aid.
Currently, UNRWA warehouses hold food supplies equivalent to thousands of trucks. These reserves will allow the population of Gaza to be supplied for at least three months. Materials for the construction of shelters for 1.3 million Palestinians in the destroyed cities are also ready.
However, due to Israel's refusal to grant permission, this aid is still not reaching the population. As a result, thousands of Palestinians are suffering from food and shelter shortages.
