Californian man exposed for stealing and selling thousands of LEGOs

California police arrested 39-year-old Robert Lopez on suspicion of stealing and reselling thousands of LEGO sets. According to the investigation, he and his accomplices illegally acquired valuable toys worth a total of $6,000.

According to a Santa Rosa police statement, Lopez ordered others to steal LEGO sets from stores, then bought them at a lower price and resold them at a higher price. Police found tens of thousands of LEGO parts, mini-figures, and assembled figurines in his house.

It turned out that he had established an online sales system and created a special scheme for the selection of products. The investigation is currently identifying his accomplices and the source of the stolen goods.

Experts note that LEGO collections are in high demand in the secondary market, and the price of some sets increases by up to 10% per year. Therefore, these toys are becoming an investment tool for some.

If Lopez pleads guilty, he could face up to three years in prison.
