Elon Musk wants to control the Earth's climate through satellites

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has announced a new project aimed at protecting humanity from the effects of global warming. According to him, a satellite system powered by solar energy and controlled by artificial intelligence can maintain the climate balance by precisely controlling the amount of solar radiation reaching Earth. He made a statement about this on his X (formerly Twitter) platform.

According to Musk, through this system, humanity can artificially control the processes of warming or cooling in the atmosphere using scientific "geoengineering" methods. In his commentary, he noted that "these satellites will not be a dangerous system at the global level, but a control mechanism that allows for small and precise adjustments."

Currently, SpaceX has more than 9,000 Starlink satellites launched into orbit. Although they mainly serve to expand the internet, it is expected that in the future the new generation of satellites will be able to direct or partially block the sun's rays.

This initiative is connected with the so-called "solar geoinformation" in the field of science. According to it, to mitigate climate change, a certain portion of sunlight is regulated or filtered before entering the Earth's atmosphere.

However, many scientists emphasize that such an experiment is very dangerous. They believe that artificial exposure to solar radiation can lead to unpredictable changes in the global climate system.

At the same time, Musk's idea aroused global interest. Some experts also emphasize that such projects could be a step towards protecting humanity from the future ecological crisis.

We remind you that such scientific ideas have been discussed before, but have not been tested in practice. If Musk's plan succeeds, it could usher in a new era in artificial climate control.
