Has Lavrov lost Putin's trust? The reasons are known

According to The Moscow Times, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is said to have lost the trust of the Russian president after the cancellation of the planned Putin-Trump meeting in Hungary.

According to the Kremlin, Lavrov will not lead the Russian delegation at this year's G20 summit. He will be replaced by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Maxim Oreshkin.

The Minister also did not participate in the meeting of the Security Council of Russia on November 5. It was reported that issues of preparation for nuclear tests were discussed.

According to the source, Lavrov's role in the situation may have been determined by a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on October 21. Following this meeting, the White House canceled the Trump-Putin summit in Budapest. Rubio reportedly concluded that Russia is "not ready for dialogue."

At the same time, it is noted that the recent introduction of new sanctions by the US against Rosneft and Lukoil further exacerbated the political situation around Lavrov.
