Ramadan 2026 in Kazakhstan will begin on February 19

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK) has announced the calendar of major religious dates and holidays for 2026, Tengrinews.kz reported. According to the information, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on February 19 next year.

Ramadan is one of the holiest months for Muslims — a time of spiritual purification through fasting, prayer, and charity. According to the lunar calendar, it lasts for 29 or 30 days. In 2026, the month of Ramadan will conclude with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr on March 20.

According to the SAMK calendar, Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) will fall between March 16 and 17, Eid al-Fitr on March 20, and Eid al-Adha on May 29.

The administration stated that these dates were determined based on calculations from international astronomical centers, but they may change depending on the visibility of the new moon.

In Uzbekistan, the beginning of Ramadan and other religious holidays is determined by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan based on the sighting of the crescent moon (hilal). Therefore, the dates announced by Kazakhstan may differ from the Uzbek calendar.
