The start date of Ramadan 2026 has been announced

Kazakhstan has officially announced the start date of next year's important religious date - the holy month of Ramadan. According to the calendar approved by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Ramadan in 2026 will begin on February 19. This calendar also includes all important Islamic dates except Ramadan.

A number of main days recorded in the calendar are marked as follows:

- The month of Ramadan - February 19;

- Night of Power - March 16-17;

- Ramadan Hayit - March 20;

Eid al-Adha - May 27-29.

The department notes that although these dates are based on scientific and astronomical calculations, there is a possibility that they will shift forward or backward by one day depending on the new moon. Therefore, the calendar is partially updated every year depending on the phase of the moon.

As known, Ramadan is considered a month of spiritual purification, fasting, worship, charity, and goodness. During this period, Muslims pay more attention to spiritual life, strive to revise their practices and do more good deeds. Usually, Ramadan lasts 29-30 days and ends with Eid al-Fitr. In 2026, it was announced that this holiday will fall on March 20.

As a reminder, the holy month of Ramadan began on March 1st in 2025.
