On the night of November 14th, the Ukrainian capital experienced another tense and anxious night. Russian troops launched massive strikes against Kyiv using drones and ballistic missiles. The attack resulted in explosions, fires, and major damage in various parts of the city. According to the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, at least 14 people were injured, including a pregnant woman, which once again demonstrated the severity of the incident.
Residential areas in the Podol, Dnipro, Desnyan, Solomen, Svyatoshin, and Obolon districts of the city were significantly damaged by fragments of ammunition and direct strikes. Particularly in the Goloseev district, the falling debris caused a fire at the medical facility. In the Shevchenko district, it was reported that the administrative building almost completely burned down. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko, the attack also damaged several heating networks and communications in the city. In the Desnyan district, some houses were temporarily left without heat.
Such attacks were not limited to Kyiv alone. According to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Nikolai Kalashnik, six more people were injured in the region, including one child. He noted that in some villages and towns, the explosion wave destroyed windows and infrastructure in rooms.
On the same night, the khokimiyats of Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions also issued a warning about the danger of unmanned aerial vehicles. In these areas, air signals worked continuously throughout the night, and the population was forced to descend into bomb shelters.
In recent months, Russia's drone and missile attacks have intensified. Experts believe these attacks are being carried out to exert pressure on energy systems and public infrastructure. At a time when winter is approaching, such strikes on heat supply and power transmission networks can lead to even more severe consequences for the people.
After this night in Kyiv, restoration work began. Rescuers are eliminating the burned buildings, and medical assistance is being provided to injured citizens in hospitals.
